I would love to see this game adapted to HvZ. You could do a scenario with an unstunnable super zombie that can only take x amount of hits before "dying" (ie returning to normal zombiedom).
The humans would have a set amount of time to hunt it down while the zombies would try to keep it alive and, you know, turn people.

I think this would shake things up strategy wise as "turtling" would lead to mass group death.

This would probably be unbalanced, but it sounds fun to me.

The few times we played this game, it quickly turned into fantasy fulfillment for whoever was "the beast." Everyone else was usually slaughtered.

That said, I don't think it's unsalvageable as a CTF game or an HvZ scenario.

Appropriate values should avoid the "fantasy fulfillment" problem, though I have no idea how well this worked in the past.
